New paper on complex families
January 2026
A new paper, by Michaela Šťastná, Dr Júlia Mikolai, Prof Nissa Finney, and Dr Katherine Keenan, looks at complex family trajectories in the UK from the perspective of children up to age 10. Understanding Society data shows that more than 25% of children do not grow up with biological parents, and children of more educated, Asian, and migrant mothers tend to grow up with married parents.
